About me
MARIANA PUGA
My name is Mariana, and as a dynamic and engaging licensed Tour Guide based in my beloved Mexico City, I bring over a decade of experience to the tourism industry. Born and raised in the heart of this vibrant city, my journey in tourism began in 2008 when I took on the role of General Manager at the Mexico City Hostel, a position I held for ten fulfilling years.
My deep passion for Mexico’s rich heritage inspired me to pursue formal training as a Tour Guide at the prestigious National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH). A pivotal part of my training involved volunteering at the Aztec Major Temple Museum (Museo del Templo Mayor) library. This invaluable experience allowed me to become a specialized guide on the awe-inspiring Aztec ruins and its significant archaeological collection, gaining practical expertise by leading tours within the museum itself.
Upon receiving my official Tour Guide license, I expanded my horizons by working at the Popular Arts Museum (Museo de Arte Popular), where I had the rewarding opportunity to facilitate handicraft workshops for children with special needs. My commitment to sharing Mexico’s cultural treasures also led me to the iconic Palace of Fine Arts (Palacio de Bellas Artes). There, I warmly welcomed and guided visitors through the acclaimed «Mexican Red» exhibition (2017-2018), illuminating the fascinating history of the cochineal dye.
Today, I continue to dedicate myself to conducting private cultural, historical, and archaeological tours in Mexico City and its captivating surroundings for visitors from all corners of the world. Known for my energetic and enjoyable approach, I am wholeheartedly committed to providing exceptional and truly memorable experiences for everyone eager to discover the wonders of Mexico.
